A day to change history

Five years ago some people imagined that the time has come to attack America and teach the whole world a lesson. Those people divided the world to "us" and "others". They imagined that God (Allah) will stand by them in their holy war against "crusaders", "infidels", and all the "others". They killed innocent people thinking they will be safe in their holy land (Afghanistan) protected by Allah. I remember that I watched the event live on TV that day, it was really shocking.
The reaction came fast when the holy protected land wiped away and the "heroes" ran hiding. The great loss that day resulted in a new American policy to follow the criminals and bring them to justice the first attack on Afghanistan criminals was successful and the second attack on Iraq criminals was successful too. One may ask what Iraq had to do with 9/11 attacks? The answer is simple! The criminals though they have different trends but they share the same hate to the free world and kept on feeling threatened by the free world (without the free world Saddam would have invaded more than Kuwait and without the free world Kuwait would never have returned to its people). So the criminals kept working in a net though they didn’t declare it, from where do you think the terrorists have this much fund to carry out attacks this big? Or keeping there operations alive? It’s a big net contain all the regimes who fight freedom and repress their people.
Two from the list are gone forever and yet many to come. What I hope is that the whole free world keep remembering this day because it’s the day that started the War on Terror. I know that the voices calling to stop the operations and pull back to the United States are rising more and more, I think they have forgot or at least started to feel safe, well they might be wrong, the hatred is still big and only small portion of it eliminated. If you stop now you will give them the chance to regroup again and soon you will see another attack in the United States and don’t forget what happened in England few weeks ago when the criminals tried to conduct a massive attack there. They are trying their best and you are trying to retreat leaving them more space to prepare themselves better!
I refuse to link between what is happening in Iraq right now and the War on Terror. If Iraq now in a mess I guess that what the Iraqis themselves did. Operation Iraq Freedom was totally successful in saving the area from a real threat and what happened in Iraq next have many causes these lines wont be enough to deal with, I hope I will have more time in the future to discuss them individually.
I don’t want to keep going far from the main reason I wrote these lines for, its for the memory of those people who died for no reason but being in a free country in a free world where some criminals hate those values and think that killing is the best way to express their hatred. To you and to all the people who fall as Freedom Martyrs I raise my prayers. I want to tell you before 9/11 innocent people used to die and nothing would happen but your death changed history forever.

Sooni,

It's nice to see you again. I'm glad to see you're all right.

I've just now discovered you, Sooni. I linked to you in a post of mine because I discovered some carnival pictures you posted last year, and put one of them up with a link back to you.

I hope that you and yours will stay safe, and the next time I do a post, I'm going to inform people of this blog. Visiting people's blogs who actually live in Baghdad is the best way to find out what's going on. We don't get much true information from our Main Stream Media here in the U.S.

SOONI!!!! whats up? why have you not posted?? i think we were all worried. anyways. amazing post, my friend. it is nice to hear people in iraq (and the middle-east in general) be thankful and understanding about what did and is happening. i also pray for the future of our world and that more and more people of the middle-east (and world) will stand up for peace and tollerance. sometimes it can be done without bloodshed, sometimes there is no choice. its better to die standing than to serve on your knees. stay safe. stay true. keep free.

I'm also a visitor through Gayle.

I want to tell you before 9/11 innocent people used to die and nothing would happen but your death changed history forever.

Sooni, yours is a voice that I wish more Americans paid attention to; it needs to be heard. Many of my fellow citizens only know about the deaths of our soldiers, blame our intervention for the current deaths going on with innocent Iraqis, and just don't understand the War on Terror and what the stakes are.

Stay safe, and please keep posting your perspective.

I noted in other Blogs about 2 years ago that the real horror in Iraq would prove to be the continuing Iraqi-Iraqi violence

Something very big and unexpected has to happen in order to somehow
get the Iraqi factions to
reach an agreement and begin to rebuild country in ....

Are there internationally recognized Sunni figures who
would command respect from Iraqi
insurgents ???

I am thinking perhaps a group of Sunni clerics from Saudi Arabia
can meet with Sistani and perhaps
the big cheese Ayatollah from Iran
in Baghdad with Maliki and they can
all issue a common fatwa to end all
Iraqi sectarian killing ...

Amadinejhad prattled on and on about justice and the opressed at UN well how about ending all this
anti-american anti-Israeli rhetoric and begin working on how to stop the sectarian killings in Iraq !!!

It may also help if the Saudis say
donated an immediate 1 billion dollars to rebuild the Sammarra
shrine and the worst part of Sadr
city ....

As an American I simply can not see
how very wealthy Muslim nations and their clerics can sit by and do nothing while Iraqi civilians are suffering ....

I mean get the religious figures together already and end this madness is Muslim-Muslim now

NOT American Muslim !!!!

Sooni, I just discovered your blog. It is good to hear what an Iraqi thinks of the things that are happening there. We can talk about it over here in America, but only one who lives there can say what it is really like. I wish you well, and hope the insane violence will not touch you.

Unfortunately, the liberal element in America ignores voices from Iraq such as your's sooni. Because to them, the war in Iraq is linked with Bush, a man they hate with every fiber of their being. And, to America's everlasting shame, they care more about denying victory to Bush than they do the freedom of Iraq; very selfish and short sighted. And the American media plays right along and both of them, the American media and American liberals are helping the terrorists and insurgents in the end. They know this, but deny it. If America is attacked again by terrorists, do you know what they will say? The Republicans did it on purpose. It is just mind boggeling how far some people are willing to sully their own integrity in the quest of political power. At least if we are attacked again, I think most Americans will awaken from their slumber and demand that international terrorism be fought to the death; I hope anyway. I like your blog, there is nothing like reading the perspective of somenone at ground zero. Keep those blog entries coming! I look forward to reading them. Best of luck, and Godspeed!
